Pipeline #1008: “Lake of Fire”
I’m bullish on this book. Incredibly bullish. It’s a great first issue, filled with lots of the things I love about comics. Read my full 1100 word review of “Lake of Fire” at ComicBook.com right now.
And, in the biggest sneak surprise of the year, it’s a perfect book for the French album format. In fact, the whole thing is done in that style. It’s a great package.
Warning: There are pages with lots of ornate dialogue. That’s OK; this is a period book, and it all is in service to the characters.
I even started to work on a little piece of fan art for the book. It needs some fixing up, and there’s some devil-in-the-details type stuff that’s bound to trip me up, but I look forward to inking this one. Maybe even coloring it.
Don’t believe me? Maybe you’ll trust this guy more:
Finally read LAKE OF FIRE issue 1 by @nathanfairbairn & @BarbarianLord today. It’s GREAT! You should all go read it now. Great 1st issue!

Picked up Lake of Fire last night on your recommendation. And absolutely loved it. Thanks for the recommendation and I like the new website. Please keep up the great work.
Thanks, Brian! That’s wonderful to hear. I always am a little nervous that I’m the only person who might like something. 😉 And thanks for the kind words on the website. I’m going to keep going as long as I can stand it! =)
I’m just happy with any website where the comments actually work!
BTW – I think the colours “serve” the artwork, not “sever” it.
