Pipeline Comics Podcast episode 35 2020 Grand Prix Nominees of FIBD Angouleme

Episode 35: 2020 Angouleme Grand Prix Nominees

The big festival in Angouleme is next week. Over the last weekend, comics professionals with French publishing credentials voted for the Grand Prix of the festival. They had three choices to make.

In today’s podcast, I’ll tell you who they are, how they relate back to the American audience, and who it is I’m rooting for.

But I won’t clickbait you entirely into listening to the show. Here are the Lambiek profiles of the final three.

Funny enough, the two gentlemen who are shortlisted were last year’s runners-up to Rumiko Takahasi. Will that impact voting at all?

I think I’m rooting for Meurisse, to be honest. The Comics Journal makes a strong case for her.

But listen to the podcast to hear my full thoughts on it, because I think they’re all worthy of the honor and I think it’ll be about the same usual bits of politics that decide the winner.
