Pipeline Comics Podcast 43: How I'm Learning French art for the show notes

Episode 43: How I’m Learning French

Yes, I’ve started a more focused effort at learning French this year.

It’s not my first time. I took two years of French in high school. Remarkably, 25 years later, a lot of that stuff is still stuck in memory. I’m rediscovering stuff I had long forgotten and holding onto it pretty well.

The trick is using the DuoLingo app and website. In this edition of the Pipeline Comics podcast, I’ll tell you about the app, how I’m using it, and what results I’ve seen already.

If you want to learn a foreign language, whether it be French or something else, I’d gladly recommend DuoLingo. (No, this is not an ad. In fact, I don’t think DuoLingo even has an affiliate program…)

Stick around to the end for a minor announcement about the scheduling of this podcast for the near (and likely far) future…

And I think I promised a link for something during the show, and then forgot to write it down. Email me if you need it. I’ll update these show notes.

  1. great ad for duolingo, if they don’t sponsor you as an influencer they’re off. You’re the Khardashian of BD lol
Now this app sounds great I’ve been meaning to get better at spanish for ages, it might be worth a try.
Only thing I didn’t like about what you describe is the video game type features, I’m not a 12-year old with OCD and social media addiction. But I’ll give it a shot
Now that your kids are confined in the house why don’t you hire them to participate in your BD related activities, making a podcast is fun and you could use that as a ploy to convert them to a great hobby 🙂

    1. The Kardashian of BD? Nobody wants to see THAT video! 😉

I might be over-selling the gaming language with the app. It’s something that kind of works for me for reasons I can’t entirely explain. It’s just a little bit of pressure to keep going and not take a day off that I need.

And, no, the last thing this world needs is another Quarantine Podcast. They’re popping up left and right, and I can guarantee they’ll all be a combination of Extremely Short-Lived and Awful Awful Awful. They’ll be cute for the kids’ grandmothers to listen to, I suppose.

The other thing that annoys me — people asking which Netflix shows they should binge on and what novels they should read. Who has spare time?!? I’ve actually LOST time because of the Quarantine. It’s maddening.
