Pipeline and Sundry: Ekho, Nintendo, and Ythaq-O

Ekho Bounces Back!

A new edition of “Ekho” arrived in French bookstores recently!  It’s volume 8. Alessandro Barbucci says on his Instagram that an English release is coming “soon.” I don’t know if that means next week or next month or December. Whatever it is, I look forward to reading it.

In the meantime, I have reviews of the first three volumes up on this site.  I need to start filling in some more…

Ekho volume 1 cover
Volume 1: “New York”
Ekho v2 "Paris" cover
Volume 2: “Paris”
Ekho volume 3 cover header
Volume 3: “Hollywood”

Izneo on Nintendo

It rhymes!

Izneo is available on the Nintendo Switch starting in October!  That’s pretty cool.  Here’s their promo video on it:

I’m not a big fan of panel-by-panel reading, but (a) I don’t have a Switch, (b) that’s not the only way to read them on a Switch, and (c) this isn’t for me, anyway.  I’m the type of comics reader who bought a 12.9″ iPad to read comics on.  The Switch app wasn’t made for me.  I hope it’s a big success for them, though.

Ythaq Is Still Going

“Ythaq” was one of the books Marvel published in the earlier aughts when it had a Franco-Belgian book line.  Three hardcovers came out, then — nothing.  Nothing is available in English digitally beyond those initial books, either.  I reviewed the first three books, and I did a quick guide to how they’ve been published.

This week, I saw this tweet:

“Ythaq” is still going, with volume 15 on the way later this month.  Artist Fred Blanchard signed on to help out with the design work a couple volumes ago.

We’re now 9 books behind in the series in English, sadly.

Someday….
