Presenting The Asterix Agenda: A Pipeline Portal

This is an exciting day.

When I first thought about doing the Asterix Agenda, my goal was to review the 25 books Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo did together. If I didn’t run out of steam, it was a stretch goal of sorts to review the books Uderzo did alone.

I had just finished reviewing the Ferri/Conrad books, so that was already in the past. I didn’t think I’d come back to them for secondary reviews.

Sure enough, I wound up writing fresh reviews of all 37 books.

And then I wrote more. I wrote about the historical references in the books. I wrote about open plot possibilities that had never been addressed, but then were in the latest movie that hasn’t seen an English release yet.

I even reviewed a couple of the movies.

Those posts spread out over the course of nearly 16 months and, honestly, I’m still adding to them.

But this is a good time to look back. With the reviews of the books completed, today I’m publishing “The Asterix Agenda: A Pipeline Portal.” It has links to all the reviews I’ve written of all the books in the series, plus an index of all the accompanying Asterix write-ups.

It’s a lot of books, and not all of them appear on the graphic at the top of this article.

This isn’t even the end. I have more Asterix articles in the works, particularly as we celebrate the little Gaul’s 60th anniversary this year. I’ll be adding to the Portal as we go.

But for now, I invite you all to talk a moment to click through and look at what a fabulous body of work the Asterix ouevre is.

And excuse me while I beam with a bit of pride over all the reviews I wrote along the way.

Bonus Tip

FRNK: A Pipeline Portal for the first cycle

This isn’t the first Pipeline Portal I’ve published. I also published “FRNK: A Pipeline Portal” recently, recapping the first four books in the series, with spoiler-free commentary and lots of information about the series — the locations, the people, the situations, etc.

Yes, this is a format I have even more plans for…

  1. Excellent stuff. It’s been a joy reading along with these and a testament to you Augie that you have such a great resource to top it off.
