The Pipeline Comics Podcast returns

The Return of the Pipeline Comics Podcast

I’m excited to announce that the Pipeline Comics Podcast is now available across the major podcast players, and will officially launch on October 1st.

A trailer episode is available now, and you can listen to it in the player above.

New shows will publish every Tuesday and Friday.

The topics for the shows will mirror much of what you see here on the website. I want to use the podcast to help spread the good word of Franco-Belgian comics, but there’s a lot of other stuff from the North American world that I want to talk about. I’ll do that on the podcast, as well.

It’s just me speaking for anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes on a given topic. No guests. No panels.

To kick things off, I’m launching with three episodes on October 1st to give you an idea of the spread of topics. Single episodes will show up in your feed every Tuesday and Friday after that.

Here’s what the first episode will look like:

Not exactly a surprising topic coming from me, is it?

(You can try that URL, but you’ll be redirected somewhere else until the show is live.)

Where to Find the Show

Apple, Google, Spotify and Overcast all include the Pipeline Comics Podcast in their directories today. Check out the subscriptions page for links to those and many more podcast players.

The home page for the podcast is at PipelineComics.com/podcast.

You’ll be able to get all the show notes and the complete archives of this second edition of the Pipeline Comics Podcast from there.

State of the Patreon

Those of you who’ve been reading this website long enough may remember that the return of the podcast has been a stretch goal of the Pipeline Patreon campaign since the start.

No, we haven’t hit the stretch goal. I just really wanted to do this.

I’ll be adjusting those goals shortly. The first new stretch goal will be to add a third episode a week at a certain level.

If you want to hear that happen, then here’s a new banner image you can click to help us get there:

    1. Subscribe today and listen to how poorly I pronounce French and Belgian names! (YouTube is a help in that department, but when it comes time to talk, I can garble the best of them. Heck, I garbled up Albert Uderzo’s name in one of the podcasts I’ve already recorded….)

  1. sounds exciting already 🙂

Just looked for it on android music player (Player FM) and linux laptop (Rythmbox), does not seem to show up yet. tried the links up there, got nowhere. Will try again.

    1. Yeah, it was missing on Player FM. I’m not sure where that app is getting its listings from. It might be coming from the Google Podcast listing that it slowly being phased out. I didn’t bother adding Pipeline to it. So I just downloaded the Player FM app and added the Pipeline Comics feed to it. Hopefully, that will make it available to everyone now. Try it again when you have a chance, and I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

    1. Probably all of the above. I had to get that thing recording and pushed out quickly so that the various podcast feeds would add the show to their feeds. I’m still getting the hang of my new mic, but I’m also being more careful with editing the shows now to get rid of that extra breathiness which is annoying the crap out of me as I edit. 😉

Eventually, I’ll replace that trailer with a new one after the show launches. With any luck, it’ll have better sound quality. I’m learning a bit on the job again.

      1. Of course. In any case, points for actually doing it instead of just thinking about it intensely like me for ages. Procrastination is my curse, it’s a miracle I even have a job lol

  2. Tried looking for it again today, the only thing showing up is something called pipelinepodcast.org which is definitely not you.
Is there a direct URL that we could use to subscribe directly?

    1. The direct RSS feed is at https://feeds.captivate.fm/pipeline-comics/

I did just get approved last night through the Google Play Music App, which I thought I was already. They had some weird issue with the show art that magically got resolved when I resubmitted the whole thing. They said it might be 24 hours before it goes through, so maybe it’ll show up tonight? But that RSS feed will definitely work….

  3. got it. Downloading now into podcast Republic.
Btw, will you be putting that up on your youtube channel as well? Would have made it a lot easier.
