Episode 21: Silent Comics by Lewis Trondheim

NBM published four books in the early 2000s written by French creator, Lewis Trondheim. They are awesome, but they’re out of print. In this podcast, I’ll describe those four books and why you should go find them now. They’re just that good.

Even Darwyn Cooke liked one of them… Listen to the show to hear which one!

Around the 12:54 mark or so, I referred to Trondheim as being prodigious. While I do agree with that word in association with him, the word I meant to say there was “prolific.”

Click on those covers to see what availability Amazon has with those books. They are, of course, affiliate links.

NBM, itself, has copies of “Happy Halloween, Li’l Santa” for a ridiculously low price at the moment.

The artist on those Li’l Santa books, Thierry Robin, is also the artist of the great “The Death of Stalin,” which I reviewed in 2017 and also became a movie with a U.S. release. That’s quite the stylistic difference.
